IN SUMMATION
June 18–July 27, 2003

Opening Reception: Thursday, June 19th, 6–8 p.m.

Plane Space is delighted to conclude its debut season with In Summation:
Inaugural Season Artists. The show will include works by John Bisbee,
Nayia Frangouli, Hiroyuki Hamada, Sarah Malakoff, Jonathan Podwil,
Claudia Schmacke, Elizabeth Simonson, and Kaori Ukaji, all of whom
exhibited in the gallery’s premier season. The exhibition will run from
Wednesday, June 18th through Sunday, July 27th, with an opening
reception on Thursday, June 19th, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Though diverse in appearance, the works collectively reveal these artists’
focus on the obsessive process of making their work. In both two and
three dimensions and in a variety of media including sculpture, installation,
drawing, photography, and video, the eight artists’ work offers an
overview of the gallery’s first season. To augment the exhibition,
selected works by artists to be featured in the gallery’s second season
will be presented in an auxiliary space located in the rear of the gallery,
providing a simultaneous look at the past and future of Plane Space’s
programming.
